Bring Mainstream Natural Hair Products to AZ
Our natural hair community is growing at a fast pace in Arizona. Not only with African American women, but with Bi-racial (Caucasian and African American)children being raised in Phoenix, AZ. I currently host numerous meet-ups in the Phoenix, AZ and I am a part of the largest Phoenix Natural Hair Facebook Group. I have heard a number of concerns about the lack of availability of products available for our hair in mainstream stores, (ie. Walmart and Target).
I understand "large black population" is very vague. Per the World Population Statistics, the city of Phoenix is the most populous city in the state of Arizona and the sixth-most populous city in the entire country. However, Phoenix happens to be the most populous capital city in the entire country. Even with this information, companies are lead to believe that we would not be able to bring the sales needed to be included in their general distribution market. We would like a chance to prove them wrong.

I have been spending my evenings reading through your stories about the struggle to find simple hair care products on local shelves. It is clear that the corporations are ignoring a massive community because they rely on outdated maps instead of seeing the families living right here in Phoenix. I am currently compiling all your feedback to send directly to the regional managers who keep overlooking our needs.

I am the owner of AZA Beauty Supply & Boutique, a natural hair beauty supply in Phoenix, AZ and we need products for our growing community. There is a large black population in Phoenix AZ and I am personally getting tired of having to buy natural hair products that I use online.
I should be able to walk in a store & buy my hair care needs & not have to always order off line
we're just as important as anyone else; we deserve a REAL market for our unique hair care needs, not two shelves of a display!

My interest is purely in support of Blackfolkes supporting, collaborating and working together for a common cause, being self sufficient and creating around that. I wear a very low cut natural. currently I use no product, just wash and go. There is a need for designated natural hair products here in AZ and we should not have to beg for that to happen. If a company cannot reach out and have a design for all levels of customers, what does that say about the company? I realize it is business and you have your financial lingo's (profit/loss, etc), but where does the recognition that probably this could help to boost your sales and name as well. A well designed, planned, promoted marketing strategy with all involved could possibly justify that such a plan of action can work. Promoting, advertising, sharing, satisfying needs, etc., can breed success. I hope this concern is in line with the subject matter. Peace.

I sure agree with you all, I cant stand the lack of or no products for our hair types. Not to mention the over priced beauty stores if you can ever find them or my fav- they have the products then come the other week,its not even on the shelf and they cant tell you when or if they will ever carry them again.
