It's usually those with unstoppable compassion who listen to the voice inside that urges to do the right thing who more snd more frequently the world seems to be trying to silence! That we collectively cannot allow!!!

She should file an "improper termination suit". No unions in Tenn, but clearly the blind image of justice must be aware that termination of employment for an act of compassion to a student is beyond responsible management practice. What an embarrassment for TENN, or maybe this kind of bullying is in common practice there. Was there some policy she violated, or is this a whimsical act by a heartless bureaucrat?? Is this progressive discipline?? Disgusting!!

Mitts is definitely the best teacher Red Bank could have. She didn't deserve to be punished for helping a student in need. She bring so much life and happiness to Red Bank. We need her back.

From a former student's point of view, Mrs. Mitts is the most amazing, caring, sweet-hearted woman that I have ever met. I was first introduced to her through my sister who also had her four years prior to me entering High School. This is not a surprise to hear that Red Bank would do such a thing. If they are stupid enough to try to get rid of the nicest woman ever, someone who put everything aside to help someone in need, then they need to reevaluate who is making the decisions!

In this case the Human Resources Department for that school division made three significant errors in both judgment and policy procedures regarding Ms. Mitts that any employee rights attorney (not in the immediate area due to political reasons) would be very successful in bringing civil suit against the school division. Public comments to a reporter by a Human Resources Dept. Representative are a privacy violation by federal law unless Ms. Mitts gave written approval in advance for contents in her personnel file to be released; announcing previous disciplinary actions against Ms. Mitts to the public is a privacy violation; and the public announcement by HR Department "substantially interferes with the ability of Ms. Mitts to obtain other employment now and in the future" thereby placing the school division in serious violation of federal employment law provisions.

Fire the principal, reprimand the school board, and reinstate her with full back pay and an official apology.

Miss Mitts you are great example of a wonderful teacher! You remind me of past teachers I have had that forever shaped my life. I hope you receive the public apology from the school that you rightfully deserve!

In this world we need more people like Miss Mitts. What kind of message is being sent to the students of that school, if you do something nice you'll be suspended. Maybe the school could learn something from this teacher.
