Stop punishing people for being "good people" trying to help their fellow man. This is caring and concerned behavior we want to see more of, not less. Has everyone lost thier mind? If someone has it in their heart to assist someone they DO NOT deserve punishment.

this is what is wrong with schools.. teachers are not allowed to help students out and be bonded with them. give me a break what happened to idolizing your teacher and knowing that they are they for you no matter what. so very wrong and Miss Mitts should immediately be given her job back and she is making a difference in our children and should be commented for her actions

It is not only the unbelievable self-serving crap of an administrative explanation, it is more that such a policy exists out of liability concerns? How spineless must the board of education that employees these people be?

A society wherein people are concerned more for legality than integrity or compassion isn't worth preserving.

This school DISGUSTS me! I am ashamed of the Tennessee School system and embarassed to be in a State that punishes fantastics teachers like this who go above the call of duty.

These are the only teachers we should have for our students. Caring, compassionate and willing to go the extra mile to insure proper medical treatment for this sick child. Pneumonia is nothing to take lightly!. Good job! I will be praying for you and your family as well as those student and families you have touched through your generosity and compassion over your 14 years of dedication! A+
