The Town Board should allow this petition to be presented to it at a regular Town Board meeting, with a representative of the petition-signers allowed a sufficient amount of time to give a reasonable presentation.

Public support for the transition from fossil fuels to renewables, such as wind and solar, is growing throughout New York State. Under Supervisor George Hoehmann's leadership, The Town of Clarkstown ratepayers have collectively saved @$2 million, their portion of the $5.58 million that has been saved by all participating communities since they joined Rockland Community Power less than two year ago – all while supporting the use of renewable energy and knowing that they're joining with communities across the country to reduce their carbon footprint in the fight against climate change!
Why is our Town of St0ny Point Supervisor Jim Monaghan, refusing to even listen, schedule a public discussion and consider the benefits for Stony Point residents?

Community Choice Aggregation is a program than can save energy costs for our town residents, in addition to reducing the carbon footprint for our environment.
Who doesn’t want to pay less for their electric service and save money? Who doesn’t want to improve the environment by cleaning the air we breathe.
Let's have Stony Point also participate in the program with the other communities.

Stony Point should at least learn about this option and discuss it. Neighboring towns have adopted it. As long as it contains an opt out option it cannot be financially harmful.
