She should get a second chance no matter whats was the reason. There are others who did worst and still working there.

I'm not saying that I support the news station's decision, however, it can be argued that she was auditioning on the news stations time; that if one were to apply for a job while on the clock at another job, it could be considered unethical and a terminable offense. She did, after all, say that she met with some New York and Hollywood producers and had no skills to show off. Furthermore, she followed up with, "So I thought, to all the producers watching at home tonight, how about a news reporter that does the news while standing on her hands", while doing so in the process. She may be a great reporter but it all comes down to perception. If the news station perceives her report as unethical and an abuse and exploitation of the stations time, then they have done nothing wrong.
