I spent 10 years in broadcast news in South Florida before leaving to work in the political arena. Many reporters I worked with got to do lighthearted, fun stories. Viewers would comment on how those peeks behind the veil of professionalism humanized the on-air talent. Her story was great! Bring back Julie!
p.s. I almost convinced a sitting mayor to do a "Got Milk?" milk mustache ad after the dairy industry approached our office... If a mayor of a large city can consider letting down his hair, surely a television reporter can be allowed to do the same.

Unless there is some other issue we don't know about, getting fired for a handstand is disturbing. The station should enjoy these antics as it's harmless fun and brings more attention to the news team and station.

If she has done other, (documented) wrongs so be it. But if that is the only thing that is preceived to be incorrect...well you are wrong. Not a big deal
