...why don't you put a LOT more energy into getting it BACK into music education starting at the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEVEL... most schools have NO jazz ed, and many of those who DO TOTALLY SUCK AT IT! No growth of the CLIENTEL at the school levels means NO AUDIENCE....ya gotta grow it from the GROUND UP! You guys are starting at the TOTALLY WRONG END of the horse....after 25+ years of teaching, and having played on the bands of Buddy Rich, Lin Biviano, Maynard Ferguson and the US ARMY Jazz Ambassadors, I have seen BOTH sides UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL...get a clue about how to grow an audience FOR LIFE and MAYBE you'll have a shot at beating the so-called MUSIC BIZ at their current tits-n-assholes game!
Not ALL the music at the grammys has to please 14 year-olds.

How insulting can the Grammy's get? The vulgar display I encountered Sunday night was not a true representation of great award winning music! Please allow some real music...JAZZ back into the performances.

As Professor Ron Carter once told us in class, if the music industry wanted to promote more jazz on a larger scale, it would. I hope this petition will be another step in that direction!

How about an all-inclusive ceremony with less hype and spectacle and a true inclusion of all styles. Why not include jazz and classical?
