Jade is a character from the popular video game series "Mortal Kombat". Debuting in Mortal Kombat 2 as an unplayable, secret boss character, Jade made her first playable appearance in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, where she worked as an assassin for the Emperor Shao Kahn until she was persuaded to join the forces of light. She is the third of the iconic female ninja palette swapped characters; the other two being Kitana and Mileena. What set Jade apart from her other female ninja counterparts was her dark skin tone, ability to phase through projectile attacks, and the fact that she had two weapons. Jade has since received mostly positive critical reception, especially after her appearance in Mortal Kombat Deception, to which she was regarded as one of the best looking female characters in the series. This is evident due to her virtual appearance on Girls Gone Wired, where she represented the cast of Mortal Kombat Deception. However, some criticize her character due to her minor role in the story. Perhaps her biggest role in the series was in Deception, where not only did she go on a mission to rescue Kitana, but she even developed a rivalry with the Edenian traitor, Tanya. Regardless, she still remains a fan favorite, although not as popular as Kitana or Mileena. On a recent streaming of the upcoming game Mortal Kombat X, it was revealed that Jade will not be returning to the roster. Ed Boon has stated that her spirit will live on through Kitana's "Mournful" variation. Many fans were disappointed with the news; we really wanted to see what they could do with her in a next gen game. The purpose of this petition is to get the attention of Netherrealm Studios, so that they can add Jade as a post-launch DLC character. We can acknowledge the fact that she won't be on the main roster, which is why we propose that she should be a DLC character. That way, she won't take up any spots on the roster; she will only be extra content. Jade has many fans, so let's prove it to Netherrealm Studios by signing this petition.
