Great priest! We can not believe how he is being treated. Should have had a slap on the wrist not what he is being presented with. Spend your time with those that are really committing a crime. Father Joe is being made a scapegoat.

Father Joe is a good man. He is inspirational and knowledgable. He is an asset. In America we are innocent until proven guilty. It is immoral to ruin a man's life over rumors. Jesus wouldn't do it.

I emphatically echo Peter Pagano's and others' call for public release of actual charges against our pastor. The Dioscese needs to STOP the nonsense. They should put up or shut up. THEY made this whole affair public. So THEY need to either SAY what Father Joe did - and WHY this warrants the humilation and suffering they have caused - or they should apologize for the whole conflagration and let our parish get back to its life. By spurious applications of illogic, our tortured society has devolved in recent times to one that establishes GUILT until proven innocent, and worse, one that now frequently causes enduring harm consequent to baseless or trivial accusations. If I had any doubt of this before, recent personal exerience and witness to the Kavanaugh hearings have convinced me that we are living within a vast crisis of (absent) leadership in the United States. True sexual crimes and heinous acts are so frequently conflated with trivial and administrative infractions by spineless authorities and mobs it now boggles the mind. I don't know why people who are presumably accomplished and wise, and who are entrusted with significant and sacred authority, do not speak up, use appropriate discretion, and simply do what is right. Can no one in authority be trusted to use anything even resembling DISCRETION? Political/ self-interest concerns and fear of media coverage are understandable - ok, I get that. But too many people, it seems to me, enjoy taking on titles and authority without an actual burden of personal responsibility. Contrary to actually leading, they act more like reactionary functionaries who cow to petty superiors, other administrative authorities, and perceived public opinion. So many senior managers (in many venues, it seems to me), are either so meagerly endowed with, or so afraid of exhibiting, personal and professional integrity I no longer recognize traditionally trusted hierarchies. I will be forever thankful to Father Joe for showing my children how great the Catholic Church can be. After many different churches and many different priests, not to mention Catholic School, Father Joe was the FIRST priest to ever know my childrens names, interact with them and help them with not only their faith but also life. My family looks forward to Mass every weekend with Father Joe because they know it will be pertinent and will guide them.
