I may not currently attend emerald secondary college but I do agree that this is a stupid rule. I remember around halfway through last year people were told they needed to get trackies and pants that have a white stripe on the sides... I remember my dad had to fork out quite a bit of money just to get me trackies so I wouldn't get in trouble for having the wrong pants, and now all of a sudden they have changed the uniform and people have to get new pants? I don't know what goes through their minds when making uniform changes, but we are not made of money. Last year (year 10) we needed to purchase a school laptop which already cost a ridiculous amount, along with new uniform, new school books and other utensils... It's just getting out of hand. What about those students with parents who are having money troubles? How do teachers expect them to suddenly get the money for all of these random (and quite stupid) uniform changes that are being made? It's not right, especially now that the weather is becoming colder and moving onto winter.

As we all know it's freezing up here in the winter and to make boys wear shorts and the girls tights is absolutely ridiculous. It would be more proactive to keep the students warm and comfortable in class learning instead of in a room on their own or suspended for the bs uniform policy. As someone else stated, Emerald is a public school not private and if the teachers have a choice of clothing to stay "warm" then so SHOULD the students. Signed Angry Mum

I think we need the tracksuit pants because who would want to wear them for sport. The girls only have summer dresses and winter skirt. The boys have to wear shorts. The tracksuit pants are so popular and the parents payed so much for them. So please bring them back!!

i dont wear trackies but its sill sad to know that steachers care more about the uniform then the education. some student will come to school with legit a white dot on their sock and theyll like get sent to prison aha!!

When I went to emerald - our uniform was amazing! Emerald is not a private school - they should stop being so tough on the uniform. I've heard stories of students being suspended for not wearing the appropriate shoes/pants! Get a grip! Emerald should worry more about the welfare and the level of education the students get than their uniform!
