Innocent family pets are being seized and taken away from loving family homes....they are kenneled......removed from their families....children are confused as to why their precious family pet has gone, and the chances of getting them back are slim. Why?? Because they are deemed 'type' that is considered to have American Pit Bull in their breeding. How do they authorities ascertain this? Mostly by measuring them.....yes you heard right.....by measuring their height...This fails on so many levels as
1. If a Staffordshire Bull Terrier is crossed with a larger breed this will result in a taller dog...or more worryingly one deemed 'type', a death knell in the most part.

2. These dogs are removed from families, kenneled in strange environments, dogs that have usually slept on beds with owners, spent every minute of every day with owners, played with their children....and are then assessed on their behaviour whilst under extreme duress.

3. Family dogs who have never ever shown any sign of aggression, who are well looked after, insured, micro chipped, vaccinated, well socialised members of the family are being taken, deemed 'type' and destroyed for no sin other than they are too tall....or look like a banned breed.

We need to be judging the dog NOT the breed. Please, lets save Darcie, if we save her then maybe we can change legislation so dogs are judged on their actions not their breed. Thanks all xx
