Cursive is so fun and I was so sad to here this that I wrote a country song...... Well, I woke up this mornin', sun in the sky, With my old boots on, and a tear in my eye, I've been workin' this land, for as long as I know, In this little ol' town, where the wild rivers flow. (Chorus) I'm a country soul, with a heart of gold, In this small-town life, where the stories are told, With my guitar in hand, and the wind in my hair, I'll sing my country song, like I just don't care. (Verse 2) There's a rusty old truck, parked out in the yard, It's been through thick and thin, but it's never lost its heart, And that porch swing creaks, as the days roll on by, With the sweet southern breeze, under the endless blue sky. (Chorus) I'm a country soul, with a heart of gold, In this small-town life, where the stories are told, With my guitar in hand, and the wind in my hair, I'll sing my country song, like I just don't care. (Bridge) There's a jukebox at the diner, playin' those old tunes, Where the folks gather 'round, dancin' under the moon, And I'll tip my hat to the stars up above, In this country life, I've found my true love. (Verse 3) Well, there's cornfields and hay bales, as far as you see, With a church on the corner, where we all find our peace, And on Saturday nights, at the county fair, We'll two-step 'neath the stars, without a worry or care. (Chorus) I'm a country soul, with a heart of gold, In this small-town life, where the stories are told, With my guitar in hand, and the wind in my hair, I'll sing my country song, like I just don't care. (Outro) So here's to the simple life, where the heart finds its way, In this country song, let's all sing today, With the love of the land, and the friends that we hold, In this country life, we'll never grow old.
