Our lifestyles are becoming more and more dependent on Broadband as the new 4th utility. We express our interest in getting this service to our homes. The current FCC broadband benchmark, calling for at least 25 Mbps download speed and 3 Mbps upload speed, will allow us to get video, voice, health, educational and business information at a much faster rate than is currently available.
Why this petition is needed: To show the level of interest in acquiring high-speed Internet service to relevant entities -- county government, Colorado’s Broadband Deployment Board, national government agencies, existing and potential service providers, funding sources, etc.
Broadband Benefits: Home-based businesses that are becoming prominent in our economy; home-based employment that is a major direction for our work force; growing economical and efficient shopping sources; emerging telemedicine providing healthcare in our homes; online educational opportunities; and convenient entertainment. Note also that high-speed Internet service can increase property values by tens of thousands of dollars and dramatically affect the salability of homes.

I spent the afternoon on the phone with local officials to explain why the current service gaps in our county are completely unacceptable. Getting a fast connection is no longer an optional luxury for our families but a basic necessity for our survival in this area.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only person in our community struggling to work from a kitchen table with a flickering connection. This support proves that our neighbors are ready for the basic infrastructure we deserve.

Our kids can't complete online school assignments yet are expected to, and working-from-home is only a dream at this point. We have been asking for faster internet speed options for years! Please help!
It's Sunday and I can't even stream our church service to our home! Please bring it on!
If the cost to provide service in our area is competitive with satellite and the capacity/speed is greater I am all in,
Broadband is especially important for those of us running small businesses in the county. All options, including public private partnerships, should be on the table to make this happen!
CO state senator Rachel Zenzinger is sponsering a bill to improve service. please support her and send her a copy of the petition. [email protected]

Yes, yes. Thank you for starting a petition. We do need better service, we shouldn't have to rely on the cell service for a good connection and the cell companies are getting more and more expensive.
