The band deserves this recognition ahead of anyone, but it's also true, dear critics and funny committee: your ignorance of theirs work is the best acknowledgment to theirs work!!!
Bon Jovi's success is of long duration, they sold many albums, they have most successful concert tours, their name still represents: quality, contemporary and timeless music and they are authentic musicians, not liable to trend but to their style, which always reinvents in a interesting and new ways.
You don't love them because they have masses of fans? Really?
So your conclusion is: masses are stupid, right? Hm. Strange. I personally know a lot of intelligent, successful (in different ways), educated fans. Many of them are teachers, doctors, accountants, social workers etc. And many of them aren't only music lovers, they have own bands or they have music accomplishment/knowledge. Strangely a lot of world-famous musicans admited frankly Bon Jovi were theirs favorit band or example/model. They were or they still are BJ fans.
So tell me, how many stadiums, albums etc. have the members of this narcistical committee sold?

I have been a Bon Jovi fan since the 80's. I have never had the chance to see them live in concert, for I live in Guam. We are a territory of the USA, but don't get much concerts our way. I do hope that the band be inducted into the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame.
