I'm a female scientist and I'm NOT offended by this innocent joke. I treasure the REAL input of this big scientist in science and I think we should judge by what people DO, not what they say. Especially if it's a joke.

The citizens of this country have apparently lost the right to free speech. Reading around the career of this guy, and the details of what he said, UCL should be ashamed of themselves, and should reinstate Sir Tim Hunt forthwith.

for goodness sake,and going on hearsay it sounded to me as a woman and happy in my own skin,what was said was off the cuff and his expertise is a very need asset to the world,being so Pc is shooting our country in the foot.

I'm a female scientist and wise enough to realise his contribution to science is loads more important than his comments on female co-workers. He's a nobel prize winner - we need his science skills and what he said didn't offend me and even if it did it wasn't a sackable offence.
