There has to be some common sense applied here. What has happened to Sir Tim Hunt is just ludicrous and I would hate to think that such an illustrious career should be blighted like this.

This is so wrong on so many levels. The PC brigade are actually limiting the English language. The UCL had a knee jerk reaction, take another look and re-instate this important and valuable man.

So sad when women think they help the cause of women in any sphere by over reacting to a mild joke.

so this Connie person, with no thought, with spite, with no sense of humour, and probably jealousy caused this nonsense. You should welcome this gentleman back to his former position, with pride, in fact beg him to return

As a woman, I'm offended that a Nobel Laureate is hounded by by a hysterical PC group of social fascists for making a joke. This is madness! See The Joke, Milan Kundera - life imitates art.

Just watched The Imitation Game. Amazed people think it's acceptable to fire this man.

Digital witch hunts should not become legal precedents. The university also acted incorrectly.

A lifetime of invaluable service to science should not be curtailed because of a baying mob.

The whistle-blower should be investigated.

It is ridiculous that media and politically-supported feminism can unfairly destroy a man's career. The transcript from the conference reveals Tim Hunt's innocence. None of his previous students were interviewed about this either. Twitter is proving to be very destructive for society in the hands of ignorants and bigots.

he is right in his comment. and even if he was wrong, he should not be punished for saying it.

It is utterly unacceptable that this man should be punished for what was a light hearted tale of personal experience regarding his own marriage by a culture of politically (in)correct victimhood parading as standing for the greater good. His contribution to humanity so far supersedes the contribution made by the complainant as to render her an insignificance! This woman has done as much harm to gender equality as Harriet Harman and that is a tough act to follow!

I don't like bullies, It seems he was bullied into resigning for making a joke and as a result of the ensuing selective reporting of the context of that joke, that is not acceptable.
