it would make sense to keep the taligate on the rats mouth because it's a bigger area and a safer area as well.

Thanks for commenting Robert. Greek Housing is FAR from even being considered built there. Yes, there was a preliminary vote about the issue that passed. But from actually putting a plan together- it's a long way till there. So far all the explanations are rumors and vague reasons- City ordinances, school policy, damage to the grass (it looks fine to us right now), etc, etc. We want clarifications and for now- why break a great tradition that has been successful for our school in the past? especially before our biggest home game ever, against Miami to start the season?

FAU needs to let the Rat's Mouth stay where it is. Let the students have the lawn.

Just to shed some light, from my understanding the reason for the move is due to the anticipation of Greek housing occupying lot 5 in the future. Therefore, the move of the rats mouth will begin the transition of students and organizations tailgating on the north side of the stadium. However, when we first placed the rats mouth in the grassy south area, the purpose was to show the community how much our students love their university and create a community of students/alumni and family all in one location (similar to the Grove at Ole Miss). All that said, I don't think we should change one of our few successful traditions that students and alumni love.

FAU Athletics loves to say "Football in Paradise" but how can you still use that phrase when your students are tailgating in a confined, out of sight parking lot. Hey FAU, you ask me for donations all the time, here's an idea: ask me for a donation to keep the Rat's Mouth in front of the stadium. Go Owls!

This is why our school will always be searching for an identity. As soon as we start building a consistent tradition a new group comes in and wants to change it. I for one want to be able to bring my kin to a football game in the future and allow them to experience a long lasting tradition.
