Please read, sign and share if you hate the new compose window in Gmail
In a couple of days, hundreds of millions of people who use Google's Gmail service will be forced to adopt the new style "compose" interface when writing a new email.
The problem is - this new interface is a massive retrograde step, a blatant attempt by Google to mimic a "chat-style" interface.
A vain attempt by Google to copy the casual messaging style of Twitter and Facebook.
This is perfectly fine if you're sending grandma pictures of your kittens, but if you happen to be one the countless millions who use Gmail for business, the new compose interface is hopelessly inadequate.
Email is a lifeline for businesses. Here are our demands.
We need control.
We need instant feedback.
We don't want to have to 'hover' or hunt to find things out.
We need to see which recipient we're sending to.
We need to see which email address we're sending from.
We need access to the CC and BCC buttons.
We know that there are some nice things in the new interface, like multiple compose windows. But this change is a step too far.
Listen to us Google. We are your users not your enemies.
