I think its about time the nit nurse was brought back to schools throughout the UK. Surely it is better to have childrens hair checked and treated, as opposed to them having to live with the stigma of having head lice? Whilst many may argue that it is the responsibility of the parents or carers to check and treat childrens hair, the sad fact is that many parents don't. It only takes one child to remain untreated for every other child to catch them. The return of the nit nurse will ensure that EVERY child is checked and treated, thus hopefully dramatically reducing the head lice problems we currently face throughout the UK.
