As a recent graduate of SCVi (2015) I feel that it is imperative to have a music program at SCVi. While attending there, I've seen so many students exceed when the music program was still there.

Music is lost in SCVI. Theatre and art are fantastic, but music is a pert of life for everyone. I can guarantee every that really student listens to music. Bring Music back to SCVI today, this petition is a great idea.

As a recent alumni of the Orange County School of the Arts, I strongly support all types of of art classes; from the basic orchestra to modern compostion. Music has been proven to strengthen a child's education by improving their time management skills and helping them stay focused longer in other activities they participate in. For me, music has played a big part in life because I've gained many life long friends over orchestra rehearsals and has helped me gain confidence in things such as public speaking. And those are just a few reasons why I support the arts. Unfortunately, not all students can afford or have the time to attend private music lessons outside of school, so having classes during the academic day gives students a chance to experience the life of a musician. Others might say that sports can have the same benefits, but that's because they, themselves, have never experience the true love of music. Please bring back music classes at Santa Clarita Valley International.

The music program is just as much as important as the theater program I feel that if there was no theater program the school would jump on hiring a new Theater teacher! Why can't it be the same for the music program !! Maybe if Sammy Raskin loved music as much as she loves theater we would have a music teacher .... Just saying.
