She should not be rubbed out of the history of illustration. Simple. find a way to honour contemporary illustrators, but do not remove her name.

The removal of Kate Greenaway's name is unforgiveable! This 'new name' is such a vivid expression of corporate greed and the lack of genuine respect! It's just another example of the rich & powerful 'advertising through sponsorship'! The Greenaway Medal should still be The Greenaway Medal, whoever put up the money!

Kate Greenaway is such a beacon of art illustration, she should never have been sidelined like this! Kate Greenaway's name means so much more than any 'corporate' name & deserve more respect! Dropping it would be tantamount to sacrilegious if not criminal!

The name made the prize meaningful both for the winners who are made to feel they are part of a tradition and for others who may be prompted to learn about an important early female illustrator.

I now know how easy it is for women to be deleted from history.

To favour corporate branding over talent and history is a sad reflection of our times. Kate Greenaway deserves her name on this medal for posterity!

Clearly a terrible decision that should be swiftly reversed to salvage the reputation of the award.

The Kate Greenaway medal is one of the few awards in the creative industries historically named after a woman. Though I understand the need for sponsorship in these times to keep the award ongoing for years to come, I can't help but feel it's a misstep to remove Kate Greenaway's name altogether.

Kate Greenaway was a famous and popular illustrator and her name should be commemorated in this prize.

Why on earth would you get rid of a hugely recognisable illustrator's name and replace it with a corporate unknown. Nobody knows what it is any more.

I fully support this petition and was shocked at the removal of Kate Greenaway’s name from this historic illustration award.

Outrageous! Yoto Carnegie? Give me a break. This is cultural vandalism. Please reverse your decision. Money isn't everything.
