My parents still look for twin tubs and have to buy second hand ones which only last a couple of years. I know my mum would be delighted if she could buy a new one that is the same as the ones she used to get. You can buy plastic ones but they are rubbish.

On behalf of my sister who does not use the web, hers has broken and she is desperate to find another, without success.

Had one yrs ago but front loaders came in but have regretted parting with my twin tub. You can't boil in modern machines like I could with my tub. Front loaders smell to and I have tried everything to get rid of smell.

Twin tubs have always been the best. Miss mine and can't get a replacement except those horrible portable ones that are more work than they're worth.

I would definitely buy a twin tub , they are easy stored. I have a small kitchen with no room for a washing machine and my tumble dryer. Washer dryers are rubbish.

The Hoovermatic was better. Faster and easier to use, and much better designed mechanically, servicing is quick and simple. We need the Chinese to do one of their copying exercises and make new ones - to a decent standard.
