Bring Back the Coast Daylight!
In 1974, Amtrak made the mistake of getting rid of a historic train which dated back to the 1920s and was extremely famous for its luxury, streamlining and gorgeous steam locomotives known as the Golden States. While the route technically still exists as the Coast Starlight, besides the scenery and portions of the route, the Coast Starlight does not have the same interior or historical splendors in common with the Coast Daylight. With recent budget cuts in Amtrak across the country and the future uncertain for some passenger routes, it's time to tell the federal government that the Coast Daylight needs to be returned to its former glory with modern equipment and the route operated and privatized by Union Pacific, Southern Pacific's successor or another private organization/railroad. Bring back history!
