Everyone who were big fans of SpongeBob at about the age6+, most likely realize nowadays that the quality of SpongeBob episodes are going downhill, majorly. I'm a huge SpongeBob fan because it was a big part of my childhood. The classic episodes that were made back in 1999 to about 2004 (when Stephen Hillenburg was still on set) were top-notch; there was just the right amount of humor for children, and then there was the innuendo-filled, and more darker humor that older kids and even adults would catch on to and laugh at. It was just right.

The new episodes of SpongeBob today just don't seem to meet the classic SpongeBob spirit. One obvious difference is SpongeBob being down right childish and whiny. You're thinking that, "hey, SpongeBob was childish and whiny back in the classic episodes too!" You are correct. But, think about it this way; back in the older seasons, Spongebob could act whiny without going overboard. He could act childish while also acting like an adult. (This is what would attract young children and a teen audience). The new Spongebob today only seems capable of being whiny all the time, and acting like a 4 year old. Thiswill only attract 5-8 year olds, and the odd 9 year old. There is so much more differences with the new Spongebob that I could mention, but I felt that this one is the most prominent.

Fortunately, SpongeBob is still a big hit with kids these days...but unfortunately, these new generations of viewers don't know any difference of this new SpongeBob, from the old, fun, awesome and classic SpongeBob that we all enjoyed when we were young.

The point of this petition is to gain the attention of all Spongebob fans, and come to figure out why this new Spongebob isn't like the show it was before, and it is NOT making the cut for us. We want answers to this, whether the directors and writers are trying to drop the age group for Spongebob, are becoming lazy, or just simply don't care about making Spongebob the way it was before; we want answers.
