While this has come to a relief to some, we, the staff, patrons, and users of AnimeWaffles would like to bring the anons back to the chat.
We feel their punishment was unjustified and that there are good anons out there.
Starting out as an anon is the first step in the evolutionary chart to being a respected and well-liked member of the community. Many of our users now started out as anons!
If we limit the amount of people who can talk on the chat box, we limit the potential for our community to grow.
Please sign this petition to help bring back the anons at AnimeWaffles and help our community grow.
We disagree with this utilitarian-like decision where the few suffer in order to please the majority. This is not "the greatest good for the greatest number of people," but rather, "the greatest evil to the lowest minority" of our community.
Though we have had our differences with the anons in the past, there are good anons out there who would very much like to chat, or get anime recommendations and even make an account. In fact, a lot of our users now were anons we've encouraged to sign up for Chatango!
Let's keep the circle of growth going by bringing back our beloved anon users.

I have been reading through the comments and seeing so many people share how they first joined our community as anonymous users. It is clear that closing the doors to them changes the entire spirit of the chat. I am currently working on a formal proposal for the site staff to show them exactly how this policy hurts our future growth.

Seeing this kind of energy for our anonymous friends is overwhelming. It reminds me why I started on this site as an anon myself and why we cannot afford to lose that spirit of growth.

Though I was never an anon and made an account as soon as I joined, I believe that they should be given a chance.
Anons are actually really funny, I miss their awkward/hilarious comments to the topic.
