Students should have the ability to take summer gym, if they have a unique schedule, or would like to take a class, but cannot because of gym. The WMHS schedule is very limited because of gym, It takes up a whole block that could be used to take another class.

Summer gym would allow me to take more classes during the school year to help me for college.

Summer gym should be available to students who participate in two or more school-sponsored sports (not including marching band). Students who do not participate in two or more school-sponsored sports (not including marching band) should not be allowed to take senior gym; however it should be available to those who are already receiving effective workouts during their day.

Yes! Bring back summer gym! This option allowed me to take almost every class that I wanted to in high school and I hope having it back can do the same for other people.

I wish I had had this opportunity. I felt as if my education was being help back being both a music studented and wanting to pursue another elective. I had to put off junior gym until senior year abd this limited what I could take as a senior

I know this may not effect me next year but for a class as ineffective and futile as phys ed is there should be a place where you can take a physical education class during the summer for people who need to take other classes during the school year

Summer gym has always been an asset for students who wish to take an additional class in a subject that interests them. We should be encouraging students to learn as much as possible while still fulfilling all required classes, which taking gym over the summer would allow.

This would help a lot of students. It would also help to get the experience and credits that would help me get into a good college.

As a senior, I know many students who could not have taken classes very important to them had it not been for senior gym! This offering is crucial for students with busy schedules - please bring it back!

As a diversity leader, we miss an entire class once a cycle to go to gym class senior year. In this time, we would be missing important information necessary for that class.

As a two season varsity athlete, I really think it is pointless to have to take gym during the school day, when I get a real workout after school. Summer gym would get rid of this, so I can take classes I enjoy while still getting my workout from running every day.

Admirable proposition! I fully support further freedom for students to fit classes they want to take by moving gym to the summer, which presents better physical education opportunities in the first place. Inspiring a love of learning is paramount in a public education setting, and giving students the ability to fit the classes they want, rather than need, will motivate them to achieve in all of their courses.

It is important for students to take classes that can help them in the future or use that block to take more classes that are offered rather than gym. Gym takes up an entire block for only 2-3 classes per cycle, or just 1 class per cycle if you're a senior. I personally think that it is a waste of a block where I could have taken more music classes because I plan to major in Music Education. This option does not completely cut out gym entirely for the students, so it is still meeting graduation requirements.
