I have been hearing from so many families who feel the same loss of our precious summer months. Every day I spend time gathering my notes to present to the board members because our children deserve a real break before the heat of August hits the classrooms.

August is one of the warmest, most beautiful months! From State fairs, to garden harvesting, this would be wonderful to enjoy!
Great idea! We need to let the kids enjoy some of August. The weather in May is always awful.
I agree with the idea this petition is suggesting OR going to a balanced school calendar. We seem to be receiving the worst of both worlds at this point. Please choose one.
Bring back summer!
I would rather go in June, (May isn't that warm yet) and go the end of August or First of Sept.

This cut short my son's visitation with his mother. My son was very upset that their time was cut short. The lost time is time that they will never get back.
