Brooklyn's Prospect Park Zoo has cancelled the very popular theater demonstrations. The demonstrations are held on the weekends throughout the year and on certain weekdays during the summer months. The demos consist of zoo volunteers presenting 3 animals to an audience in the zoo's theater. They educate the audience on the animals and then go around and let each audience member touch/pet the animal. Aside from the barn, it is the only time zoo visitors can touch animals. It's a popular program. Children and adults love it. It is cost effective for the zoo since volunteers run the program.  Please sign the petition that will be forwarded to the Wildlife Conservation Society requesting that the program be brought back.
