Some series' often reach a point where they run out of stories to tell and either the series ends or the creators find a way to revitalise the core of it/find new stories to tell.
The Layton series is not one of these series'. It had a loose end at the end of Lost Future perfect for picking up from and then when the prequel trilogy and the film rolled round, it simply added more story building blocks for a post Lost Future series and with the Layton Brothers spin-off and the crossover with the Ace Attorney series just leaves us with a whole host of room for yarns to be spun.

Professor Layton games have always been close to my heart. Playing the games in a dimly-lit living room on Winter's nights are among some of my favourite memories.
It would truly be a shame to see the series finished - especially after the events of The Unwound Future.
Layton still has unfinished business!

The Professor Layton games were some of the first DS titles I ever picked up, and I've been playing them ever since I picked up Curious Village. I feel deeply connected to the characters and can't imagine the series coming to a close, especially on such a cliffhanger tease as was the end of Unwound Future.

i dont know why they would want to get rid of it, but they really shouldnt they are a really fun line of games and all there puzzles are very clever, if anything they should make more movies about the games
