The Magic is gone. Bring Back Mets Pride and Winning Tradition to Queens, NY! Sell the Mets!

In 1958, two winning National league teams abandoned New York for the greener pastures of California. Four years later, in response to the huge void, the NY Mets were born. NL fans in NY were ecstatic! The team did nothing but lose but personalities on the squad captured the hearts of fans.and a love affair was born. Things shortly began to change when Seaver, Koosman and others began coming up to the big club. Gil Hodges, mgr, would NOT tolerate losing. And so, a winning tradition and philosophy was born and took hold. Now, flash forward to 2013. The current ownership, Fred and Jeff Wilpon are broke after some very bad investment decisions. They are bleeding our team for every penny to meet debt payments and obligations. Winning does no longer fit into their equation. And, in the process they have taken to outright lying to the Mets fan, who is, after all, a consumer. The fandom has repeatedly been promised acquisition of multiple pieces to improve the club. Nothing meaningful has or will happen. And so, it would be in the interests of all Mets fans to demand the selling of the NY Mets, as soon as possible. This is a shell of the team they once were. Pride is just a word used with lions. The lies from the Wilpons via Sandy Alderson are agregious, disrespectful and must end. We, the fans, do not have to take this sitting down. It's just a game? No, it's not. For myself, it's a large part of my life, and my passion. as well as my family's. If anyone out there feel as I do, won't you consider signing this petition? If for nothing else than to give voice to our frustration and anger. Let us inform the ownership and front office that we WON'T be attending Citifield this year. This petition will be submitted to the Wilpons no matter what the final outcome. Jeff and Fred Wilpon: SELL the Mets!
