After a short effort to convince J Foster's ice cream to return peppermint stick to the shelves, I was met with a facebook message that they had brought it back. My hopes high, I went to j fosters, only to leave with nothing but chocolate and a broken heart. This is not just about peppermint stick. This is about a dream. This is about the freedom to choose what we want in life, to use our hard earned cash to better our lives the way our family's have for generations. Could I get peppermint stick from tulmeadow farms? Yes. But j fosters is my childhood, my home, where I learned who I was and what I wanted to do with my life. To give that up is to give up on that idea, on that dream, on that home. To give up on that is to give up on the people who can make that dream possible. I will not give up, that is not who i am, and anyone else who believes in that dream as strongly as I do cannot give up either. It is not just about the peppermint stick. It is about home, and hope, and the duty of all of us to live up to our word. How can you help? How can you stand up and fight for what you believe in? All you need to do is sign this petition. All you need to do is say you believe in that dream. This is bigger than all of us, and when you look into your children's eyes one day after they ask you what you've done for this world, you can tell them. And when you hand them that double scoop, from the parlor that represented your youth, the look you see in their eyes will tell you what that flavor, and what that idea, means to us all.
