Bring Back Our Farmers Market
We
need your help to get our market back where they deserve to be - on our
historic courthouse lawn! When it comes to our local farmers and
crafters who take time out of their days to provide a service for our
residents, which in return promotes the wealth of many small businesses
alike, what better place for them to be than on our historic courthouse
property where it all began! The way the current situation stands, our
market would love to return but not under the supervision of the
DBA. It is not our attempt to disrupt the current ways of doing
things in our beautiful town of Lapeer, but to do what the community
wants for the better good of all parties involved.
My husband and I, with the collaboration of local downtown business
owners, have organized a new association in an attempt to reserve the
courthouse lawn, as well as, the surrounding sidewalks and pavilion on Wednesday's and Saturday's from 9-3pm for our loyal
historic farmers market vendors that we have grown to love and support.
Please consider signing our petition allowing the "newly organized" DBOA
the potential rights to speak for the Historic Farmers Market of Lapeer
in attempt to persuade Lapeer County, as well as, the City of Lapeer to allow us to run our Farmer's Market instead of the
current DBA - dissolving the city's current special event request in
order to implement ours.
