HMS Belfast is still a proud ship that greets thousands of visitors every year. They would never consider naming another Victory. Why dishonor those that served on the Belfast like my father. Having travelled the world on the last HMS Manchester the Royal Navy could not do better than to rekindle the great name that did so much good work and gave so many like me and many shipmates pride in a ship we loved and miss today.

The 2nd HMS Manchester was my 1st ship 87 to 90. I had 3 "educational" years on board. If you are going to have "city class" frigates then Manchester AND Leeds must be included. Ditch London and either Glasgow or Edinburgh in favour of these 2 NORTHERN POWERHOUSE centres of excellence!!!

I served on the last HMS Manchester. After the Manchester bombing which my brother was involved in, this would be a great tribute to him and me. Thanks.

Should have been a City class named Manchester. This is the least the MoD could do.

It's a no brainer really, but yet another sign of the discord between those in power and the north.
