Such a sad day to see an officer dismissed for no reason. I too was let go by a sheriff who gave no reason to me why I was not being resworn. I feel for Jim as I've known him for years and the type of man/officer/father and husband he is. It's a complete and utter shame that the Sheriff's Office has come to this... Wake up Greene County and see what you've done for the next 4 years....

I was saddened to hear of this. 17 years of service and no explanation of why you're being let go. You deserve better treatment than this for your years of service and dedication to this County. It takes a poor leader and a coward that will not and cannot provide a valid reason for letting a dedicated worker go but continue to keep corrupt,lying, back stabbing individuals on the pay roll

I am at loss for words...when will this abuse of power ever end. Jim I hope you feel the support of your community. You are loved and respected! Three years from retirement and 17 years of service to our community...and this is the thanks you get. I hope the citizens of Greene County take the time to voice thier support.

First, No one should ever be fearful of losing their job for exercising their right to freedom of speech. Nor should they be dismissed without explanation. Its simple, did they violate Policy or comit a criminal offense that would excuse them from their duties or is this personal? Whether these Officers publicly supported Smith or Taylor has absolutely no bearing on their abilities as an Officer. I personally am disgusted and so tired of seeing good, caring, qualified Officers careers being destroyed in my County, over non-sense at best. Yet a select few remain...Deputy Jim Donohue was also let go with the same explanation given, NONE. He served this community for 17 dedicated years and has always been an upstanding Man. When will this childish behavior STOP! Having kids in school who know and respect Both Officers, this infuriates me. People, start asking questions of your Sheriff's Office. You deserve answers!
