The first flosser I actually used every day. The only flosser that is comfortable, portable, and much neater than water!

I can't understand this decision.
I think that upper management in many companies often fall in love with a "good management principle," a rule of thumb, and propagate it downward to lower levels. Lower levels of management are SUBORDINATE, however. The guidance from above is treated like a command, elevating the guidance they were given into a "goal-in-itself", an almost mindless imperative. They then go looking for places where they can APPLY their shiny, pretty principle. Narrow criteria are defined, suggestions are made by staff in hopes of earning brownie points, suggestion #3 seems to fit the criteria, and the axe comes down on the side of implementing the mindless imperative, even if a broader review (total effect, rather than just fitting the narrow criteria) would reveal it to be very harmful in the long run. I've seen this happen so many times at the corporate headquarters where I worked for 40 years, that I wanted to coin a word for it. Then I realized that there already IS a word for it: tunnel-vision. If any word-coining is needed, perhaps "middle management tunnel vision" will do.
Simplifying the product line to minimize expenses usually DOES reduce costs (at least in the targeted area), but this doesn't necessarily translate into larger total profits overall. A company could save lots of money by trimming their R&D budget, or even eliminating it, but doing so would KILL companies that rely on innovation to survive.
Oral B has a specific niche: oral hygiene. They had exactly two products that were best in class: their electric toothbrush, and their Hummingbird. Now they have only one best in class product. Their water flosser is okay but it isn't as good as Water-Pik. Oral B sell plenty of manual toothbrushes, gaudy, multicolored bristles with all sorts of "brushing technology" and purported advantages, but it's all just eye candy. Manual toothbrushes don't work better sprouting of those bristly doodads, they just sell better. Techno-mumble pl

This is by far the best flossing product I have ever used. I hope you or someone else will bring them back to the market. Maybe just a reasonably priced mail order system.

I an a dental hygienist who has recommended this product to my family and patients for years. It is a wonderful product that should be brought back to offer patients. it has helped many patients who are physically impaired to maintain healthy gingiva and better periodontal health.
