I feel that the new system is far too complicated and it makes it much harder for the average competitor to qualify for anything if you’re not a professional or rich.
I also have the argument that due to the fact that top riders are able to now compete horses in classes as low as Novice (due to the G section) this removes the need for apprentices to take the young horses out at lower levels which means that fewer young competitors are able to gain valuable competition experience which is making Dressage even more of an elitist sport.
Things need to change to help non professionals to have a chance again!

I preferred the old system , I think there is less opportunity for normal people to get to the nationals and at the other end it seems any one can can compete at premier / high profile shows now , these were just for open riders but are now bronze , silver and gold ?

The new system is just too complicated and new rules keep being added all the time which have ruled me out of so many things.

I cannot cope with the new system trying to understand the rules etc if it aint broke dont fix it and the old system worked for me , I would love to affiliate again but I can only understand the old way I am an amature rider and was still able to progress but refuse to join with all this bronze, silver and gold stuff ( grading of rider and horse so 8-1 and points with R and O was easier to understand !)

Find the new system impossible to follow. Forever having to read and reread the rules. It was easier to interpret and understand statute, rules and regs during law school than BD rules with new system..

The new system is drastically skewed towards professionals. There is no point amateurs aiming for regionals any more.

New system not working in my opinion. Too complicated and not really encouraging the one horse rider to progress up the levels .

Much better system and less complicated
I agree, the new system is floored!
