The reason is simple. Windows live messenger was the instant messaging app that everyone waned. Skype is inferior in every way. Microsoft, give us back what we all want.

Yes even if Skype "replaced" MSN still MSN was far more reliable than Skype has been, constant problems with Skype, login errors, fails to connect, every imaginable and unimaginable problem you can think of is plaguing Skype despite the constant "fixes"
