This little creep should have the book thrown at him ! I do not feel that the teacher bears ANY responsibility for this incident ! The phone was her personal property. The school district should be ashamed of themselves for firing her !

The teacher bears no responsibility for this incident. She shouldn't have to 'lock' her phone to protect it from students, the mere fact that it's her phone means the student shouldn't have touched it, it wasn't his. That student bears every bit of the responsibility, he knew it wasn't his.

If we are are held accountable for what is private & legal between two consenting adults that was meant to be kept private, then all of us would face unjust scrutiny and criminal actions. The student in this case is the only person with blame. The teacher (Mrs. Arthur) should not feel shame!

It's disgusting that this woman lost her job over this invasion of privacy. She is the victim and this is how she's treated? Maybe we should start a petition for the superintendents job!

I am a teacher. I have a phone. My students know where it is on my desk. They also know going behind my desk is strictly off-limits. However I could see the temptation and could see one or two of them give something like this a try. (My phone is password and finger-print protected.) Your phone not having a password is NOT a reason for dismissal. The student should be disciplined and CERTAINLY NOT the teacher/adult.

The student involved has now been charged...a step in the right direction. Now let's give the teacher her job back!

Mrs. Arthur has a right to her privacy, regardless of her password habits. The issue should not focus on her behavior, rather that of the student who violated her rights. In my opinion this is the true issue at hand. Mrs. Arthur's rights have been completely violated and that is being completely overlooked. I hope no one ever has to go through continuous victimization as Mrs. Arthur has. I wish her and her family the best! I also wish those students learn a valuable lesson from this and change their behavior, lives, ethics, and morals. I don't know you Mrs. Arthur, but I respect, appreciate, and support you (with the facts, or supposed facts, that I am aware of).

Thankfully, the residents of Union County school district now know that "interim" superintendent Eubanks is a moron and they can start looking for a permanent replacement. Better find a good attorney to defend against the slam-dunk civil suit that's coming too.

David Eubanks sounds like an arrogant fool. He is one of those guys who probably has a skeleton in his closet who plays "God" with people's lives. What he did to the teacher is absolutely despicable.

Mrs. Arthur is 100% the victim in this situation, and the fact that she is being punished for having her privacy violated is absolutely outrageous.

Unbelievable. What a backwards decision. It is wrong, it sends out a wrong message and affects more than just this teacher. Bring her back and let the student be held accountable for its actions.

It's true she made a mistake leaving her phone unlocked and out of her sight. But it is not her fault at all for having those photos stolen and spread across the social media by a 16 year old idiot. The person who should be charged here is that kid. My saying is if they're old enough to know what they're doing, they're old enough to face the consequences.

Ms. Arthur's forced resignation is ridiculous and completely unacceptable. I hope she sues the school district because she should. Further, the punk that shared her private photo on her personal phone should be held completely accountable.
some people need to mind own business
