I think the student should have been suspended for touch the teacher personal property and it's none of his business what's on her phone

This is why students are the way they are these days. The principal and superintendent are the ones that need to be fired or forced to resign. Teachers hold no clout anymore and thus the reason the students act disrespectfully. What a sad situation we live in in this day in age.

This Teacher is a Victim. The school board needs to apologize and reinstate Mrs. Arthur.

Someone's personal property is just that, their personal property, and just because she set her phone down for a few minutes does not invite anyone to open it and go through it. If the young man (and I use the term Man very loosely and only because he presumably has male genitals ) were to fall asleep in class does this indicate his classmates have the right to go through his phone, wallet, backpack or anything else he may own but is not clutching at the time? Of course not, and any persons private property has the right to remain private. He should be charged with the same charges as if he entered her home and ruffled through her belongings until he found what he was looking for, it was an attack of the most vengeful and cowardice type and I àm glad he is not my child because the shame he has brought upon his family name will hurt and haunt him and his family members for the rest of their lives. As for the shameful actions of the school, I suppose it is much easier to side with the assailant than try to help the victim. She is already hurt and reeling from the attack so hitting her when she was down is the simple and cowardly way to slink out of any for of responsibility or mature conduct. I only hope this does not happen to any of the staff who are responsible for this decision. Since it is clear that this type of attack on staff at the school is welcomed perhaps the principal will be the next victim? Or should I say the poor student who is able to get some sort of dirt on him and then force him to resign. Be careful what you do and say next..... be very careful, because if you upset anyone,,,, and I mean anyone, you will be obligated to step down. What's good for the goose......

This is rediculous. That's student should be punished for stealing the phone, not the teacher. It's like punishing a person who's house was burnt down by an arsonist because they had matches in their house.

She's clearly the victim here. Reinstate her and get rid of those who demanded her resignation.

The fact that you would let the female teacher go and do nothing to PUNISH the male students is abhorrent and only contributes to rape-culture & victim-blaming. Bring her back and expel these students!

She should not be punished , she didn't do anything wrong . It was her private property , not anyone's business but hers. Ridiculous

This teacher should have never lost her job, she has a right to privacy. The whole world of technology that allows student and teachers to constantly have cell phones with them at school is an issue. Kids do not learn when they have cell phones out all the time and at my daughters high school the teachers also sit on their phones all the time too. Its ridiculous and I am 30, so its not as if I am not in the technology age. As far as this teacher goes, she has every right to a normal life and her personal privacy was invaded and her rights are being violated. These "kids" who are old enough to know better should absolutely face consequences as their actions have just made a woman lose her job.

She did nothing wrong! That was her personal property and that student should be punished for taking and sharing the photo. She should not be forced to resign.

The student who took her phone and stole her pics should be punished. Her job should be restored.

It is disgusting that a victim is being punished this way, while the perpetrator of the offense is not being punished in any meaningful manner. The school district is doing a horrible job of instilling a sense of morality and ethics in their student if this is how they handle such matters!

Asking for her resignation is ludicrous. Way to further victimize the victim here!!!
