What that child did was a breach in privacy, and I'm disappointed on how the school board handled this incident. From how she was fired and how the student has not received any disciplinary action. This is a shame on our school systems, your country and state, as well as our nation as a whole. Please reassess the situation.

It's a shame invasion of privacy has resulted in a teachers resignation. I hope she is able to continue her career in education and doesn't lose her passion as a mentor.

It's one thing to not punish the student, but it's an entirely different matter when they punish the victim. Make this right.

For a society that shuns victim shaming we sure do love shaming victims. Firing the victim of harassment, theft, and technically hacking. Kid should be expelled, teacher should be rehired, and the administrator who fired her should be dismissed.

Someone is going to have to explain to me the mental gymnastics required to blame the teacher for this. I'm not getting it. If the teacher, in this case, had been a fellow student would they blame that student? If the roles were reversed and the teacher stole a student phone, would they blame the student for the same reasons? Schools notoriously love one size fits all rules, and this one is going to seriously bite them without the application of a little common sense.

The fact that a school board can act this dense in regards to a clear invasion of privacy by a student is ridiculous. Who ever fired the teacher should be adamantly ashamed of themselves, because they clearly aren't intelligent enough to call themselves a principal.

An invasion of privacy that she is being blamed for? What an absolute Joke. Stay strong!

Punish the student not the teacher. What a horrible outcome so far. Student should be expelled from he district for theft and distribution of porn.

That student requires being taught life lessons.

The logic behind Mr.s Arthur's dismissal is the same used by criminals when they blame their victims for their actions.

Man, when I was 16 I was worrying for finals, not stupid. This kid was in the wrong as soon as he picked up Mrs. Arthurs phone, and he/she should be displined for the cause. It's private, and what ever Mrs. Arthur does in her spare time is for herself, no one elses concern. No way did she make this availble for students by not having a passcode, what a load of crap, and the person who even mentioned that should be sanctioned or publically announced.

What is wrong with the school administration? THE SECOND that dumbass kid touched the phone, he was in the wrong.. then he proceeded to distribute naked picture of a person... distribution of porongraphy. kid should be suspended

This is just wrong. She kept the images confidential, why is this even an issue?
