I've had three sons graduate from Trinity. My oldest daughter is a senior. I can't say that I've had a lot of interaction with Billy Sheehan but his standing in the Trinity community has always impressed upon me why I thought that Trinity is a special place. He is a caring, compassionate teacher who has earned the respect of students and parents, if not this administration. His termination, amid a cloud of secrecy, gives me pause to consider Trinity for my youngest daughter. I really must wonder if this place is as special as I once thought it was.
This action begs several questions: How many times has Billy violated the rules? Have others done so with the same result? What responsibility have the parents of the student who precipitated this mess taken toward the fact that their child chose to confide in one of the most beloved teachers this school has ever had, instead of dealing with this within the family? Billy's concern has led to his downfall. "No good deed goes unpunished" seems to ring true.
Assuming that this is part of a "zero tolerance" or "one strike, and you're out" policy from the Catholic church (you know, the one that shuffled pedophiles around in the ultimate "shell game"), this seems like a case of throwing the baby out with the bath water. Billy deserves better than this. My last question: Does Trinity deserve Billy anymore?

I have known Billy since he was a neighborhood kid in Merrimack. He was instrumental in convincing our granddaughters to attend Trinity. if no one else will say it, I will. The church hid the tragic events with the priests for years and now they railroad a beloved teacher like Billy without giving a reason? I am disgusted once again with my church.

I have had the privilege of Knowing Bill since high school . He is one of the most kind, honest and thoughtful human beings I have ever known. The diocese lack of common sense and ignorance has lead to a gross injustice. I am thoroughly disgusted.

I am writing to add my voice to all the others calling for the reinstatement of William Sheehan. I have know Bill for nearly 40 years. The Bill I know is a dedicated professional devoted to teaching. I have no doubt he always puts his students best interests first. I urge the leadership at Trinity to reverse this unjust decision.

Billy,
I think the world of you. Trinity has suffered a huge loss. I saw you interact with students at Bring It. Your are a class act and one of the best teachers I know.

THS will never be the same without this teacher, mentor, spiritual guide, colleague, family member, father figure and down to earth wholesome person. The recent news article makes folks that support Mr Sheehan have questions . What did he do?? Please have faith, Mr. Sheehan's side will be known and the disappointment with Manchester Trinity Principal and the diocese of Manchester only grows deeper. An interesting article would be with the student involved, who by the way has signed this petition, the family and Mr Sheehan. His involvement with the student has had a positive outcome for the student, even though protocol (referral to the guidance office) was broken .

Mr. Sheehan was my math teacher during sophomore year, and also was my homeroom teacher this year. He is truly the heart and soul of THS, and I when I think of THS, I think of him as apart of it. I consider myself very thankful to have met him, for he cares so much for his students success.

Bill Sheehan is in my family. He is an AMAZING man and his love for helping others, especially his students, is what any parent would pray for regarding the adults their children come in contact with day to day. My own children cherish this man in their lives. The idea that he would do ANYTHING that isn't in the best interest of his students is preposterous!!

If Market Basket was able to get Arthur back, we should be able to get Mr. Sheehan back! We need to follow by example and stand united and not stop voicing our opinion until Mr. Sheehan is back where he belongs! Receiving Mr. Sheehan's termination on the first day of summer was such a disappointment to the Trinity community! The school halls may have emptied out, but summer will not make this issue go away. He deserves to return to Trinity with the rest of his family in the fall. It is our job as parents to protect our children and we clearly voiced we want Mr. Sheehan in their life! Why didn't the review board contact any of us?

What has happened to Mr. Sheehan is unjust plain and simple. The school talks about a diocesan review board, but fails to mention the board simply reviews what is presented to them by the school and diocese, with no outreach to Mr. Sheehan or chance for him to defend himself or dispute what is being said about him. It is like a jury only hearing the prosecution and the defense never getting a voice. I think that is what we call a kangaroo court or a stacked deck. The Union Leader should look into the process! I look forward to the day when Mr. Sheehan is cleared.

I am shocked to hear the news that my inspiration through high school was asked to not return. When I enrolled at trinity high school I was a scared sophomore. I was on the verge of failing nearly all my classes. I just didn't care. I was too caught up in the drama of my social life to care about where my life was heading. Mr. Sheehan took it upon himself to guide me. A lost soul consumed the jaws of high school drama. If it weren't for Mr. Sheehan, I would not have graduated. I would not have attended college or even attempt to put in an application. I would be making minimum wage for the rest of my life struggling to make ends meet. Mr. Sheehan took me out of very hard and depressing times. He followed up with me every day on my classes all through high school long after I was out of his geometry class. He cared enough to show me that I was capable of much more than the effort (or no effort) I was giving. On my high school graduation he took the time to come and congratulate me personally. He may not have been aware at the time, but I walked the stage because of him. He has made a larger impact on my life than most people would know. I am not on the presidents list at my university, and I am a member of the national society for collegiate scholars. All because Mr. Sheehan believed in me.

I've known Bill Sheehan since the 70's and truly you won't find a nicer guy than Bill. Trinity is supposed to be a Catholic school that should be supporting teachers such as Bill who choose to be role models for the community. If the administration doesn't do what is the right thing and bring Bill back I will certainly do what I can to discourage anyone that asks if they should consider Trinity as a place to send their kids. It's obvious that others feel the same way. By the way, the administration also needs to a complete overhaul, been there way too long
I love you Mr Sheehan
