From 1997 to 2022 Washington Park was adorned with the most beautiful Christmas lights. The event was proudly put on by the Albany Police Athletic League (PAL). This all went away when Kathy Sheehan abruptly cancelled this cherished holiday tradition for dubious reasons. We are asking Mayor Dorcey Applyrs to bring back Lights in the Park for 2026 as part of her “bring the fun back to Albany.” Let’s all sign the petition to bring back Lights in the Park!
