So sorry to hear this terrible news. Really liked Kelly. She was a delight on air. WJAR losing respect for this station for treating a loyal employee in this manner. Shame on you. Channel 12 here I come.

Have been watching Kelly for years. No one does a better job of delivering the weather news than she. I will get my weather news elsewhere. You don't get rid of a really good, well qualified professional in order to "break in" a novice.

Don't try pleading/reasoning with Genl. Mgr. Vic Vetter at Sinclair. He's working "brownie points" to get noticed at corporate.
Hit him where it hurts...in the wallet. Sue Vetter personally and Sinclair for many millions! Contact all advertisers who support Sinclair and let them know you are boycotting; and that their products/services will be put at the top of your stink-list. Let's open his/their eyes!

I like seeing Kelly. Always has a smile. Brightens my morning. She's relatable and a voice that's clear and easy for my disability to follow. Kelly Bates is an asset to the station. If you won't bring her back I won't watch anything on your station. The internet gives us many choices. Local isn't all that interesting all the time.
Think about that.

A very foolish mistake on the part of WJAR that will have serious repercussions on your viewership. I was, until two days ago a regular, decades long devotee of "turning to 10". Will be, until this issue with Ms. Bates is resolved by returning her to your airwaves visiting Uncle Tony on WPRI.

I am disgusted with WJAR 10 under the Sinclair group. WJAR has the best news and weather team in the country and the management needs to let them do their jobs. Kelly Bates has been treated with no respect by Sinclair group. They need to follow the real news that Kelly Bates was voted top female meteorologist in the RI market. You just lost a multitude of viewers, me one of them. Try and use your brains for once, I know it will hurt but not too much considering you don’t have much!!
