I am shocked and angry that this news station would force Ms Bates to resign over a terrible offer in attempt to replace her. This is just outrageous. My family will no longer watch channel 10. We will now cancel you and see how you like it. Just terrible

I have watched WJAR since I was a child. My dad was controller and then treasurer. I watched the first show in color at the station. I am outraged you have let Kelly go. I always looked forward to seeing her. How can you do that to such a wonderful employee? I want her reinstated. I will feel like a traitor but I will no longer watch your station. Please reconsider your decision.

I enjoyed watching KB. I am not sure you are being honest or fair with reasons Channel 10 could not come to an amicable contract.

Kelly is a true weather reporter, growing up in and still living in southern New England, who has always been " on her game " . Always part of the local community. We can't afford to lose her!!

Once again channel 10 let’s go of an amazing talented staff member go for someone younger. No loyalty is shown at channel 10 which is why we have stopped watching them for years.
Best to you Kelly you deserve more and will achieve more because of your professionalism talent and ‘OH YES’ your loyalty

Last week I was ranking R.I meteorogists for their knowledge, clarity and accuracy, my top picks Mark Searles, Kelly bates.I listed seven area forecasters! I have absolutely nothing against Christine Erne and in time I’m sure she’ll improve! She lacks clarity,I have to follow the graphics to understand the forecast! You are losing an excellent employee who gave the job her full attention and gave the viewer a clear, detailed and calmly stated report even during servere weather alerts! Shame on you!
