You need to rehire her. Someone devotes their life to a career only to be told it’s over. We need people like Kelly and we need to stop focusing on appearances and ratings this is someone’s life.

Kelly is a much loved RI icon
While viewers do not have insight into the full story surrounding her exit, the departure was abrupt and unnerving to say the least WJAR should do better for its employers and viewers

Kelly is smart and does an amazing job. What you did, and how you handled it shows how little respect you have for your employees

Find a way to bring her back. Im guessing its based on the financial part of the contract. She is an inspiration to women, a great tv personality and a wonderful meteorologist.

What is wrong with Chanel 10 News? Oh, that’s right, they forced out the bear meteorologist they’ve ever had on staff. And now have lost thousands and thousands of viewers. Chanel 10 is part of “ the good old boy” system and behind the times on grasping what the viewers/public wants and expects to see on the news. Chanel 10 deserves to lose viewers based on their poor poor decision making.

Nice blanket statement Vic Vetters on Kelly Bates choosing to leave Channel 10. Maybe you should step down instead. She has been a great public figure with nothing but graciousness on and off the air and has been a huge influence to young woman in the industry. I'm guessing Sinclair offered Kelly a deal she had to refuse. I as a lifetime watcher of Channel 10 in Rhode Island I will be moving on as well to a non NBC local channel. Good luck Sinclair with your ratings. I have a feeling this is only the beginning of declining ratings. You struck a nerve on this move Sinclair. Kelly you should move over to a competitive station in Rhode Island and all your faithful followers will surely follow

Disgusted as a woman Kelly's age. I always thought NBC was better than this. It's very obvious what the station cares about how dare you. I will never watch your station again. You make women feel awful about being themselves. Born and raised in RI!

Kelly Bates is delightful! She is the only one who offers a weather cast that is clear but comprehensive. Listen to your public, come to your senses and bring her back.
