I have watched channel 10 news for many years. I LOVE Kelly Bates! I will no longer be watching channel 10 anymore! Shame on you for letting a good thing go!!!

Extremely poor decision by WJAR management. Kelly Bates was well-liked, genuine and accurate with her forecasts. This move by Channel 10 makes it evident that they do not have the best interests of their loyal viewers at heart. They must have an alternative agenda. I will no longer get my local news from Channel 10- I believe WPRI, Channel 12 treats their employees and views much better. Shame on you WJAR!

Bring her back!!! Kelly Bates has always been an amazing meteorologist! The awards that she has garnered prove this! Please bring her back. I have been a loyal follower of Channel 10 for more than five decades. Demoting her and now firing her is the last straw!!! I will no longer watch your news programs. Channel 12 is just a click away. Shame on Sinclair Broadcasting! May God bless Kelly and her family!

My channel 10 says Kelly decided not to renew her contract. Kelly clearly loved her job and signed their contracts for 17 years. So, I have to wonder what was different in this contract.

I really like Kelly Bates as a weatherperson. She is terrific and needs to be brought back to WJAR Channel 10. I guess that I will have to watch WPRI Channel 12 from now on. I have always preferred the CBS television shows, but NBC news. I guess that I will just watch CBS from now on.

I am disgusted by what I have seen of Kelly Bates leaving WJAR. I am sick of the weather channel for only choosing model like weather girls, but I expect it from them! I refuse to watch them as well. It abhors me to think that someone we welcomed into our homes for years with open arms and confidence is tossed aside for what appears to be, her physical attributes! Shame on WJAR, By not sharing what they offered her in her contract, and by seeing the the devastating video of Kelly, I am sure it was a behind the scenes pittance! I expect this from the Weather Channel but am shocked by our local news people. Take a page from WPRI, they have the best reporters news anchors, and meteorologists based on their ability to bring us quality news, weather, and sports. Again, SHAME ON WJAR for caring only about one's physical attributes on our screens instead of seeing and appreciating the wisdom and dedication of their long time trusted news employees!!!!!

if she is not reinstated, I am no longer a viewer. I would not blame her for not coming back after being let go. We love Kelly for many different reasons; mostly because she is real, unlike many of the "plastic" news people we see on air. And, I do not believe it was her decision to leave, unless she was given an ultimatium by your station. Kelly is family to many of us and we stand for family who has been "done wrong"
