Kelly has been a big part of our day for many years. Her departure appears clumsy and contrived. If you cannot afford Kelly then you probably cannot afford to be-in business. We strongly urge that you reach out to Kelly and, with some contrition, work out your differences and bring Kelly back.

I had noticed Kelly wasn’t on as much and thought maybe that’s what she wanted. I wanted to see her more. My thoughts of her being replaced by younger slimmer girls was really the truth. Shame on WJAR. I use to watch Channel 10 news religiously by now will be changing stations.

She needs to be reinstated. She is an excellent meteorologist and very personable! I don’t know what they were thinking!!! I don’t even want to watch this channel anymore. I miss her refreshing personality. Please get her back!! Everyone is very sad and angry at this situation!

I once weight 374.5 lbs, and met with a lot of rude comments. I wonder if her weight had anything to do with the contract changes. I hope not. Good luck in the future, please keep us informed if you do go to another station. I will not be watching wjar for my news and weather.

Kelly deserves her job back.. but I'm sure if she goes back they're going to force her to quit by being evil and resentful

Kelly stands for all of us women out there that works hard, is professional but still gets reduced hours and we all know why, she is older and is not a cookie cutter shape. Shame on your discriminatory practices, we women will not forget this.

I have relied Kelly's professional, accurate weather forecasts for many years. Her joyful personality is infectious. She is truly one of a kind and I'm certain WJAR will come to regret not doing whatever they could to keep her.

She was marginalized for years; only meteorologist whose broadcast was easily understood ( at the end of her broadcast I knew what the days weather would be)

Seeing Kelly and hearing her voice and confident forecasts were like seeing an old friend without the air of overrated celebrity. She was a comforting gem.

Kelly Bates is one of the best, if not THE best, meteorologists in Rhode Island. Period. Shame on you WJAR!
