I believe that intervention is essential because its allows most teachers to take a break in the middle of the day, and it helps students whether they tutor each other or need help from a teacher. Intervention should not be taken away

Intervention is time for students that are struggling to get the help they needed and for other students to take a break and free themselves from the stress of being at one of the most challenging highschools in the USA. As the administration i believe you could find a better more efficient way to solve the issue of snow days.

I agree that the administration shouldn't take away intervention, but just tacking on 4 minutes to each class would be detrimental to our education as well. I believe that we should instead have our 20 minutes of intervention and then move on to do the rolling period thing with only 28 minutes. This is a compromise that would both provide the students with intervention time and a good education as well.

No matter what happens, I feel that they don't really have a reason to take away intervention next year... I mean, yeah, I won't be here, but intervention is the last-minute back up for kids that can't make it to school for extra help or extracurriculars before or after school. Not everyone lives really close to the school, and not everyone has a consistent ride.
In the absence of sports, other extracurriculars are what help GSMST students really identify with their school. I feel like everyone should get the opportunity to participate in something regardless of whether they have a ride.
Also, we already have 7 periods as is, or 8 for some. Most GCPS high schools only have 6. Do we really need to cram in even more instructional time? Why fix what's not broken...
And what happens to everyone that goes out to the field or down to the gym during intervention? Just that just die on the spot? It's hard for a lot of us to find time to exercise regularly outside of school. And a few more girls were just starting to show up, too.

Personally, getting home at 5pm is enough. Now with the extra 30 minutes, I won't get home until 5:30. Intervention helps me to relieve stress and relax a bit before continuing on with my day. Taking this away from the students is only going to make them want to learn less. Please reconsider your idea.
