Upon speaking with Dan Cole (the Vice President) we have realised that starting the shuttle bus would disappoint many students due to a limited capacity and only benefits a few selection of people (those in the city centre & Smithdown, not those who live elsewhere.)

For students who live in the city centre, it is fairly easy to commute to the campus, but it is very costly with accommodation, food and other expenses. It costs on average £16.20 a week on buses to and from the city centre.

For students who live off the Smithdown Rd it costs on average £6 each way in a taxi to IM Marsh, it is possible to get the University of Liverpool bus, but the first bus begins at half nine, a time that is not suitable for people with 9am starts. It is also possible to get two buses to get to IM Marsh but that is not a reasonable mode of transport as it is very time consuming and costly.

However LJMU has offered a grant of £150 an annual bus pass however this is only available to those living in Halls, which is mainly first year students.

2nd/3rd YEAR STUDENTS:would you be happy with a travel pass for buses and trains for free or half price? ANSWER IN DISCUSSION PLEASE :)
