Moved from Motorola to Honor/Huawei because of Motorola's bad practices, since all my devices i normally have unlocked boot-loaders and are rooted.
Luckily i managed to get my Unlock code before the deadline however they have since removed the option to get the code. With other things that seem to be happening with Honor/Huawei they seem to be closing the door on Open-sourced beliefs and putting the Middle finger up to developers. Guess Honor/Huawei with be joining the Do not buy list with Motorola and HTC.

Huawei was the only phone left in Canada I could root. I like improving things on my phone and having the ability to customize or fix bugs myself- including making the phone faster and more stable. I have had 3 products from them and I was going to get a P20 pro, but now I am probably never going to buy their phones again because of this. Its too bad. I really loved their phones.

You will lose market share if you don't allow your phones to be unlocked. It's mandatory in some countries.

Always loved Huawei for that exact reason - easy to unlock the bootloader and customize your phone without any third party apps. Very disappointed to see that this feature has been eliminated...
